From reading "What's Going on...with our Boys?" it is definetely surprising to see how things are drastically changing with the amount of women going and graduating college than men. Men feel that they do not need college to make something out of themselves. They have other options such as join the military or working as laborers. Many women feel that they need college to be able to support their family's and live comfortably. They also know that the divorce rate is very high these days and they may need to support themselves one day.
Looking into my own life, I now realize that more of my girl friends go to college than my guy friends. It's weird to look at and to understand why this is happening. I guess all we can do is support our male friends and encourage them to be like us ladies. :)

Old Intro Vs. New Intro!
OLD
Distinguishing parts of my identity seems easier now as I get older. After some thought and debate, I have come to the conclusion that my personality fits that of a lawn chair. Lawn chairs and myself have similar qualities such as being laid back, made for the outdoors, and having much versatility.
NEW
As far as inanimate objects go, myself and lawn chairs have much in common. It took some thinking to see what I share with random objects and then it dawned on me that I truly am like a lawn chair. Lawn chairs and I have similar qualities such as being laid back, made for the outdoors, and having much versatility.

Text Messaging and Satan.
A few months before turning 16, my Mother wanted to get our family cellphones. This was either an attempt in wanting to keep up with the times, or the more likely reason, of wanting to know where her two teenage children were. At first I was absolutely disgusted at the idea of owning a cellphone. I know it sounds crazy. I should probably point out this was a time in my life when I didn't watch T.V. , wear shoes, or eat processed food. I thought having a cellphone was completely ridiculous. The reason for it was because I didn't want to be constantly interrupted by phone calls or texting. I had more important things to do than to socialize with human beings.. I was still content using our home phone and the simplistic way of just checking the Caller I.D. if I missed a phone call. Basically, I thought cellphones were way overrated for the money people spent on them. I heard horror stories of classmates that texted over their limit and had HUGE bills and had to actually go find a job to afford their phone.
After I got my phone it took a little while to get used to it. Especially the texting part. I would get annoyed at texting because I was so slow at it. If someone texted me and asked me a question I would just call them back and tell them my answer. I also got very annoyed when someone texted me and I couldn't even understand what it said. When guys text its the worst. You can't tell sometimes what they mean, since its just words with no emotion.
I do appreciate the wonderful ways of the text now. I got used to the easy way it was to communicate when you couldn't really say anything out loud. It's easy to stay connected with anyone when you can send and receive text anytime and anywhere. So, it does have it's benefits and convenient uses, but when texting is your only form of communication, I think it's time to put down the phone and step outside.
